EDITORIAL

It was in the 1980s that my father, C. N. Mathew, started a magazine named “Pooja”. The magazine was published from Kottayam, Kerala, in the southern part of India with great expectations. The main intention of that magazine was to encourage a lot of people to read short stories, poems and a variety of articles related to daily life.

Twenty One issues were published containing a variety of articles,    poems, and featured articles. Short stories, Swami Aduradas’ life history, memories of Jayan; a famous cini artist who met an accident at the time of shooting a film named Kolilakkam.

Unfortunately all dreams did not turn out well. A lack of funds along with marketing problems and certain other issues related to printing, gave an end result of failure.

After a long break, it was a challenging dream for me to start an online magazine. As the cost of printing has become more expensive, I have planned for an online magazine with both a Malayalam and an English version.

The name of the magazine is “Pooja, Online Magazine”.

The “Pooja, Online” version helps people to read articles as per their availability of time and allows them to choose which articles to read
